This place has decent food. It was typical diner breakfast! The staff was friendly and we were quick to be seated. The place had a very Old school diner atmosphere.

I give you one star only because I had to. I think the owners mom rated it "Marcos best breakfast". I went here with my wife so we could have someone else cook for us. Huge mistake. Portions were small. The setting was like something out of a hospital cafeteria. The eggs tasted like they came out of a 5 gallon bucket and were steamed. The "home fires" were most like fresh out of a bag in the freezer. Breakfast is not a hard meal to make, but Susie's sure figured out how to screw it up. Do yourself a favor and serve up your own breakfast.

2 stars on the strength of the coffee. The eggs were OK, the potatoes were not.

Somewhere between a truck stop in Iowa and a diner truck on a job site in Cleveland. If you're into that kind of thing go here. If you want great coffee and good service you might consider absolutely anywhere else on earth first.

Clean, good food, no pretenses, good and bad, very friendly and prompt service. Usually diners have some mom and pop flair but this was newer construction, pretty vanilla decorating. Highlight was the eggs Benny hollandaise sauce. My mother's fried eggs were runny (not medium firm as requested). Their hash browns were good too- al dente middle, crispy outside and no skins.

The reviews on the lackluster quality of the breakfast served are accurate. Tips for the quintessential breakfast: 1. Use real eggs; not powdered. Hence the yellow/orange color depicted in photo album featured on Yelp 2. Use real potato's vs. frozen little cubed product from the freezer section 3. Avoid prepping toast as it impacts the quality and is served damp/soggy Dear Owner, It is possible to take the feedback on this site and turn things around; but it requires you to avoid serving food you would not have in your own home; it requires you to step back and reinvent and elevate your standards for a quality food product. So unless your satisfied with just capturing a "one hit wonder" patron because they unknowingly trusted your signage as "The Best Breakfast on Marco Island" or they did not see reviews previously posted on Yelp and other sites, it may be a good idea to call on Gordon Ramsey for an intervention. This post is strictly related to your breakfast offering, as that is the meal we ordered. Thank you. Hope this helps you to improve your product moving forward.

We were looking for a place to have breakfast on Friday morning and after shopping at Publix for groceries earlier in the week we passed Susie's which had a sign on the door for the best breakfast in town. After eating at Doreen's Cup of Joe down the street earlier in the week, I was skeptical as Doreen's was probably the best breakfast I have had in quite some time but we thought we'd give Susie's a go. We stopped in at about 930 am and were seated quickly at a table which gave everyone plenty of space, important in my opinion of a breakfast joint as there are cups and multiple plates around with the 4 other people I was with. Our server was a middle aged woman who was quick to get us coffee and orange juice. The menu was pretty standard for breakfast and nothing popped out at me so I went with my regular of French toast and bacon. The French toast was ok, kind of overly eggy (I don't enjoy eggs) but not the worst I had ever had. I enjoyed the bacon I received and thought it was cooked properly but the rest of my family thought their bacon was too floppy. The rest of my family got the pancakes and bacon and after I tried a bite of my girlfriend's I was kind of disappointed. To be honest, I probably could have made a better pancake at home. Susie's was not what we were hoping it would be. I'll admit that our server was efficient and had our food out to us quickly and was attentive but the food just didn't measure up. I think they should change the sign on their window to the most average breakfast in Marco and you should head down to Doreen's for the real best breakfast on the island or just make your own breakfast because it will probably be better than this place.

Well the wife and I ate here for a late breakfast on 9/20/2015. It is off season and was not packed. We wanted to try it last year but didn't have time. We didn't realize we weren't really missing anything special..... The food was just adequate. The wife ordered a bacon cheese omelette with a side of strawberries and I had the Spanish omelette with a side of bacon. It was edible and was served fast. Since the wife and I were not eating potatoes or toast we did request something in lieu of these. The wife got strawberries, but having an intolerance to strawberries and melons, the waitress had nothing else to offer. I asked about pineapple, yogurt or cottage cheese. She said they didn't have any. But they did fully charge me for the side of bacon :( We won't stop back.

Great breakfast stop while visiting the island for the weekend. Place looks clean, staff is friendly & food was served hot... What more do you need. Thanks, we will be back!

I don't know who rated this the best breakfast on Marco, but I sincerely hope it is not. Very much standard diner food... Omelette selection was abysmal, and everything tasted like it has been boiled in canola oil. I asked for Cholula or Red Hot to give my omelette some flavor (the slices of velveeta were really all I could taste), and was told they had none - only Tobasco. What kind of breakfast place serves only one variety of hot sauce? The service was poor...the ladies were all ultra crabby and sassy when God forbid my father asked if they served whole wheat pancakes. If you go to Marco, avoid this place at all costs. Your hotel's continental breakfast is probably a better bet.

What a disappointment. The food was school cafeteria taste and presentation at best, and the waitress was too busy socializing with the staff to provide adequate service. We were suckers for this jount. Never again.

This is a solid restaurant. They cook decent, average meals and they do them pretty well. This is not five star gourmet dining, but they don't pretend to be, either. You get pretty big servings and unless you don't eat Classic American breakfast foods, you're not leaving there hungry. My sister loved the pancake with walnuts - awesome flavor and texture. And she got a full cup of sliced strawberries - just berries - and how fantastic is that? On the downside, the coffee was watered down and weak; maybe it's the water? But it wasn't good. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy tasted like it came from a box mix. I watched one member of the serving staff refill the Log Cabin syrup squeeze bottles (the kind you buy at a grocery store) using more syrup from a monster jug. So, it's not heated, and you COULD make all this at home. If you wanted to. And if you wanted to, then why are you eating out? Everything else? Pretty average. You'll get a breakfast just like this pretty much anywhere that does eggs, bacon, waffles and pancakes. And that's fine - that's what I wanted for breakfast and that's what I got. So, no surprises, pleasant or otherwise.

If there was a score lower than one star I would have given it!!!!! I ordered the open faced roast beef sandwich with gravy and mashed potatoes. Haven't had this plate since 2006 living in Chicago, WHICH WAS ALWAYS TERRIFIC I MIGHT ADD. On the window it says it's the best breakfast around. Well if lunch is any indication of how breakfast is...then we are doomed! There was absolutely no taste other than straight up salt. How can you mess up box made mashed potatoes? Well, they did. That was terrible as well. The gravy, tasteless again, unless it was the gravy jacked up with salt and not the roast beef itself. It is worse than prison style cafeteria food, though I don't know how that tastes, but I heard terrible and I thought with all the salt my blood pressure would raise to over 200. I am really curious if their breakfasts are the best on Marco. I just paid 12.67 for salt, is what I did! The ambiance I thought would have been better, since it is Marco, the waitresses,,,just very quiet, didn't talk much, nothing exceptional. I just can't believe this place is still open. Another thing, they gave so much meat, my god, it almost reached my nose. Even the bread was terrible. In my haste in trying to post my review on every website possible, I ran in to this. This is scary, had I known this, I would have never ever dined here. Scarier than halloween.. there you go, this is from the dept of health! city-data.com/fl-restaur…

This place is on par with all of the other breakfast joints in town. The staff was friendly and the service quick! I was happy they offered breakfast specials. I had the A1Z (half order of French toast with fruit topping of strawberries, banana and blueberries- with one egg and bacon) my only complaint is the blueberries weren't fresh. We consider this an overall great experience.

Friends told us they love this place and that we needed to check it out. Needless to say, we were pretty disappointed, especially with it being previously hyped. It's really, really difficult to screw up breakfast food and they really didn't mess it up, it was just amazingly average. And it took quite a while for such a simple order. Even Waffle House has twice the food at a third the price. Check out NeNe's for a (slightly) better breakfast!

Had the hash omelet with hash browns and wheat toast. Exactly 4min and 35 seconds after ordering it was at my table. Everything was great. I do not understand how when I write a bad review for a place it gets lost in the clouds , is Yelp giving special considerations to some but not others? I have written more than 30 reviews from San Francisco to the Turks and Caicos yet my profile only shows less then 6. Well Mr Yelp here is one, this place ranks 4 stars all day. If this review is lost then I will never write another for you!

Best breakfast in Marco Island. Very quick service and great food to show for it. They have a wide variety of foods and is a very comfortable atmosphere. I've been here numerous times and the food always exceeds expectations. Plus the owner of the restaurant is incredibly nice and hardworking.

So so food took a long time to come out but at least it was hot. Menus said Thursday special Philly cheese steak , with peppers, onions beverage and dessert $9.89. Got the bill $9.89 for sandwich, $2.25 for un-sweet tea, and $4.77 for dessert for a total of $16.89 I complained and was told they were old menus and they have been in the process of changing them for the last Three years. I will never go back and will tell everyone not to go there. There are much better restaurants on the island with much friendlier staff and owners.

Not sure why the mixed reviews on this place. It was a huge breakfast menu and a huge breakfast too. I don't think our breakfast could have been served any quicker and I asked for a cheese that wasn't on the menu. It was a really good NY omelette and served hot! When I pulled up and parked next to a purple Bentley I thought it was going to cost more than the $18.00 eggs at the Marriott but we got our breakfast for two and a T-shirt for Pops for under $35.

Votes best on the island? Coffee was watered down, gravy looked like it was left over grease and tasted horrible. Eggs were sour. Only good thing was bacon, which you cannot really mess that up. If that's voted best on the island I believe the sun and sand absorbed all of their taste buds!!

I'll give them 3 stars because of all the Yankees pictures behind the register. But the breakfast sandwich was probably only worthy of 2 stars, and it was overpriced. For what I paid it should have come with some hash browns or fruit or something. Just a sandwich all by itself on a plate looks a little sad. Service was good, though. I believe her name was Daniela. She was very patient and attentive. I'll have to do a better job of checking Yelp reviews for breakfast stops the next time I'm in Marco. This was the second mediocre, over-priced breakfast I had here. The best morning meal I had on vacation was cooked by my father-in-law at the house we stayed in!

Mediocre food. Processed cheese in the omlettes. The Belgian waffle didn't come with enough strawberries or strawberry syrup! Coffee okay. Definitely not the best breakfast in town! Despite how busy they were the service was good.

I liked this place and plan to return on our next visit to Marco Island. The decor is lame. Tons of NY Yankees pictures behind the register. I hate to support a Yankee fan in any way...but breakfast here is great! The decor and mood are pretty lame. Looks like furnishings for a church rec room or something. Nothing special. There are framed t-shirts that could be staff uniforms on the walls and there are a couple flat screens on the wall near the kitchen. Started with coffee and OJ. Both were awesome. Coffee was particularly good. Exactly what I'm looking for from a diner type place. Fresh, strong, hot, and tasty without being overpowering. The food was REALLY GOOD. I had maybe my favorite western omelette ever here. They serve it with cheese but I asked for no cheese and it was no problem. It came with excellent wheat toast. I also had home fries as a side. They were just OK. Definitely processed, frozen, and not freshly prepared. My wife had Belgian Waffle and sausage (link style). Both were excellent and the waffle has to be among my faves I've ever had anywhere as well. Prices were fair. Service was accomodating without being over friendly. Servers seemed like they've been there for a while in a good way. They knew the menu and got right to business with taking the order and serving up the morning goodness.

Had breakfast at Suzie's and will not be returning. Food was subpar. Home fries were dried out. Probably deep fried twice. Service was good but prices are too high for what you get.

Similar to NeNe's IMHO. Food ok. Service was fine although not crowded when we visited. Coffee was not so good according to hubster.

Have dined here many times in the past but it has slowly gone downhill. My husband made a comment - how can anyone ruin a breakfast? Here is how - disinterested, unfriendly staff even though there were onlytwo other table filled. Breakfast - burned hash browns, untoasted toast, dry omellete with a slice of unmelted american cheese in it and they have raised their prices. Go to one of the many other places on the island that serve breakfast - Hoots, Mangos or Breakfast Plus. Much better food and service at these other restaurants. Susies will certainly not be voted best breakfast on the Island this year - awful.

So good! We were a little worried after reading the other yelp reviews but were pleasantly surprise by the service, the delicious food and the overall experience! We were initially told a 10 - 12 minute wait but only spent a few minutes outside. Daniela, our waitress, was pleasant, quick and friendly. We both ordered the French Toast Deluxe (came with two eggs, four generous slices of french toast and either sausage or bacon). I had scrambled eggs and sausage links while the hubs had sunny up and bacon. He asked for his bacon crispy - ask and it is given. The meal was amaze-balls. Loved it. Loved it so much than when my belly filled and I could fit no more I felt sad. Sad. I would definitely go back...and hope that whatever negative reviews existed before are well on their way out. Worth a shot!

This is your typical breakfast place. They have a good selection of breakfast fare and some token lunch items. The food is good but nothing spectacular. Decent home cooking. (It's nearly impossible to screw up scrambled eggs.) Somewhat overpriced. The atmosphere is lame. It looks like they did the least possible to get away with being an eating establishment. And then we get to the service...bad, bad, bad. Each and every single server looks like they'd rather be anyplace else other than there. They do the absolute least possible to get the job done and you end up having to ask for certain things like a straw for your juice. The menu is also very inflexible. If you want to have something done your way, like add an egg to one of the breakfast combos, forget it. They just don't seem to be able to do that. The food is good, everything else has room for major improvement.

Outstanding breakfast menu and good value comparable to any other place. Great quality ingredients and the owner is hands on and cares what his customers think of the food and restaurant. Been in business for 30 years. Would recommend to others.

I just got back from Susie's and must say that it was a total and complete dissappointment. Not only was the service slow as molasses (about 5 mintues before we were offered drinks and another 10 before they came), not only was the food sub-par (I have had a better McDonald's breakfast), but the mangers were even apathetic to our complaints regarding the quality of service (a simple sorry would have sufficed). Needless to say, we will not be returning to Susie's.

The food was good. Service was fine. Just a little restaurant with decent food. Don't set your expectations much higher. I got a waffle with fresh strawberries which actually did seem fresh which was nice.

WOW - not sure how this place got anything less than 4 stars?! This is a great breakfast place. I ordered the french toast (~$9) and comes with a huge amount of fresh fruit. The coffee was very good as was the O.J. - very fresh (but what do expect - you're in FL). I was eyeing the waffle - the lady behind me ordered it and it looked like it was a specialty waffle with fruit and whipped cream on it - will definitely try that next time I am in M. Isle. Service was very fast - probably 8-10 minutes and the food came out. Initial greeting was a little slow - but whatever - I was on vacation so didn't really care. Waitress service was nothing spectacular. The prices were slightly higher than would expect for breakfast but given it is M. Isle - kinda expected that. The place looks to have been remodeled and it is very clean. The restrooms are very clean as well - which is a plus given the combination of breakfast, eggs, coffee...you get the picture... Anyhow, would definitely return here. Saw some complaints about the NY "theme" - give me a break - would rather dine at a place that has a theme than not (no I am not a Yankee's fan).

When we walked in this morning I saw two signs on the door, (1) "Voted Best Breakfast on the Island", and (2) "We pay attention to the details." Needless to say, I was ready to be impressed. The inside is very local-like, pictures of Yankee's baseball and T-shirts for sale on the walls. The staff was friend and fast. Then it all fell apart. The coffee was made some time several hours ago and besides being bitter, water-downed, and luke-warm it tasted like dirt water. My waffles were fine, my wife's french toast was good but even she commented that I make better at home, with less butter. I chuckled a bit. I also asked for cheese in my grits, now being from the south this is normal operations (perhaps not in this area of Florida, but then again I recalled the "We pay attention to details" sticker on the door. The grits came (again) luke-warm with to slices of plastic cheese on them. Ughhhh. Looking around, I know who voted them best on the island- the local folks. I am glad they like the place, it seems friendly and comfortable if you live around the area. The prices are a bit high, but in line with island prices at other places.

On a mission to find a hot breakfast after a long night. Found this place after leaving at NeNe's Kitchen because the 30 min wait was to long for 2 hungry men. Bty, NeNe's is good but we were hungry. Ok so back to Susie's, this place has everyone stacked on top of each other in a loud cramped breakfast spot. So what, if it's good that's how it should be. Problem is they are not able to handle a full house for breakfast. We waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and this was off season. Can't imagine how they handle the Tourist in-season. Ordered a breakfast sandwich, BLT, no mayo and asked for it on a bagel instead of bread. The waitress had the check if she could do it and said it may cost extra. When she came back she said no problem but it would be $3 extra. REALLY? That was almost as much as the BLT. I ordered it anyway and told her to think about a more reasonable price. She returned 20 minutes later with our food and guess what. YUP, Mayo on my BLT. I asked for a new one as I don't eat Mayo and she stormed away. Ended up being a great sandwich and she reduced the BAGEL tax for $1.50 additional. SERVICE POOR. Food below average. Take a pass.

Breakfast here on August 11, 2011. Both adults in our party had severe stomach issues within 45 minutes of leaving. Coincidence? I think not.
